The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) was established in 1973 under the Professional Accountants Ordinance (Cap. 50) of the Laws of Hong Kong. #Order a Hong Kong Institute of CPA certificate. In December 2024, the HKICPA, together with the Guangdong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Hong Kong Listed Company Auditors Association, and the Macau Accounting Professionals Association, signed the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Accounting Industry Development Strategic Agreement (2024).” The agreement aims to deepen cooperation in five key areas within the accounting professions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, jointly promote high-quality development of the three regions, participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, and serve the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The HKICPA (“HKICPA”) has consistently strived to enhance the transparency of its industry regulatory system and align Hong Kong’s accounting profession with internationally recognized Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) designations. How long to get a Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants certificate? 

For CBE exams held in Hong Kong:
Candidates taking Associate Modules 1–9 will take the CBE exams at a fully equipped exam center.
Candidates taking Elementary Module 10, Professional Modules 11–14, and the Capstone will bring their own devices (“BYOD”) into the exam center. Specifications for BYOD-compliant devices will be announced soon.

All CBE exams are held at test centers in Hong Kong and mainland China. Candidates must attend an exam center equipped with CBE testing facilities and be supervised on-site during the exam.
